Sneak Attack and Counter-Attack
The following "review" which was posted on Amazon three days in advance of the publication of my new book The Professors, was actually written by one of the 101 professors profiled in my book, Marvin Berlowitz, who runs the Peace Studies (i.e., anti-military, anti-capitalist organizing committee) at the University of Cincinnati. There is no indication for Amazon readers that the author of the review is also the subect of the text, and obviously Berlowitz thought his attack would be more credible if no one knew he was. I note that 1) he writes from the point of view of an activist, not a scholar -- which is the reason he is in my book -- and 2) that he does not challenge its accuracy. I have also posted an astute response to the incognito professor from another Amazon reviewer.

Progressive Professors Network. Progressive academics owe Horowitz a major debt of gratitude for providing us with a data base which appears to be an extraordinarily useful resource for networking with other progressives previously unknown to us. The book might also be useful for students seeking an alternative to the miseducation so prevalent in the academy. Other customers should attempt to sell the book with all deliberate speed before it assumes its rightful place on the trash heap.

Brad Fiennes: To suggest that the leftists in the academy need assistance in networking is laughable. They all know each other. They control the journals and who gets published. They control the departments and who gets hired. They see each other at all the conferences. They know each other like the backs of their hands. It's been a huge circle jerk for quite a while, now.
The people who don't know what's going on are the customers. The sad sacks who cough up the big dough so their children can be taught to hate everything about them (although not to hate them so much as to decline the largess of moving back home...). The alumni who keep sending checks, oblivious to what they're -really- supporting. The kids who show up on campus, incapable of defending themselves, with mushy heads and ready to be molded like the Hitler Youth. These people don't know squat, but Horowitz is working hard to deliver the info they need. Great book, and sorely needed.

I'm sick of these types of "reviews" the Professors have been receiving. If you don't like a product at Amazon.com the simpliest thing you can do is not buy it. But don't go about and ruin things for others by smearing the author and driving down the ratings of that book.
If you don't like that book, you have the option and choice to not buy it. Don't impose your choice upon others by smearing the author and trying to discredit the book as "fascism", "Nazism" or in the case of Paleocons who agree with the Left-"Communists".
